The world of work is changing but sometimes I miss the old days

After I lost my job in May, I started jobhunting. After a few weeks of receiving polite rejections, I discussed my situation with a recruiter who told me the world of work has changed.

The world of work has changed but so has the world and society. That’s why I was delighted to hear that my good friend Tony St Ledger and his band Trouble Pilgrims have released a single called “The Old Days” which is now available on the brilliantly named record label Forever In Financial Arrears.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the sudden passing of the legendary Luke Gleeson. Anybody who attended gigs in Dublin will have bumped into Luke, and his ready smile and in-depth musical knowledge made being in his company a pleasure. Trouble Pilgrims were privileged to play on the bill of many gigs promoted by Luke in Drop Dead Twice. The world is a lesser place for his passing and we offer our deepest condolences to Anita and Darcie and to all of Luke’s family and friends. Rest in Peace Pilgrim

#pilgrimagetorock to The City Arms in honor of Richard Taplin at Pride of Place Stoneybatter 2019

The Stoneybatter Pride of Place Committee and the entire Stoneybatter community are deeply saddened by the passing of Richard Taplin. Richard was an absolute diamond and total dynamo.

To honour his spirit and love of music we are determined to make his Stoneybatter Festival events, Stoneymatter’s ClarkesVille and his pride and joy Community Garden (Family Fun Day June 23 Manor St.) to go ahead in his honour.

Thank you to his family and friends and to Clarke’s City Arms and all the amazing musical acts who really want to do this for Richard.

It’s time to roll up the sleeves and make this happen!
Richard was a local legend and as he sets up his PA system for that great gig in the sky we will all do our best to create a musical stairway to heaven all weekend.
